Fighter Pilot: Going Strong

I’m absolutely amazed at how well he’s adjusted, it’s almost as if nothing at all has happened to him. He now jumps up and jumps down really easily. He runs faster than I can catch him, which I know from experience. I swear that right after the surgery he was depressed and upset about it all but now he’s back to his old sweet and grump at times self.

When my BIL and SIL came over for dinner recently they were sitting on the sofa. Pilot jumped up and sat right between them like they were best buddies. He then curled up and snuggled both of them and seeing that reminded me of why we went through what we went through. He’s such a special little guy (and I don’t say cat because he’s so much more than a cat). Here are some more pictures of his journey, those these are about a month or so old.

YAY LITTLE DUDE! I’m so glad he’s doing well. He HAS been through a lot. My other cat Zoe gets depressed a lot when we’re not around. It’s amazing because people who don’t have cats don’t realize that they get depressed/have feelings just like dogs. I know a lot of folks that have said, “Cats just don’t have the friendship like dogs do with their owners.” Oh but they do…in a very different way. So, while to most they seem aloof, they are super complex in their emotions!

Oh it’s so frustrating, if you think cats have no personality and don’t connect to humans it’s because you’ve never tried to have a relationship with a cat. Every single cat I’ve known (even friend’s cats) will show affection if you take the time to get to know them. Cats don’t just love everyone, trust me, Aurora adores Manly Man and Pilot is my boy, dogs however seem to love just about everyone and everything. I like that I have to work for my cat’s love as other would have to with me, it means so much more in the end. I also love how they do their own thing and I do my own thing and then I spend some small but quality time with them at one point in the day, it’s nice that way. Anyway, cats get a bad rap because you can’t compare them to dogs, it’s like comparing men and women, we’re wired totally differently but we all can love just the same.

Yay, I’m so glad he’s doing so well! I went through his set and though I’m sad that he sometimes forgets, I’m super happy to see him getting around and completely back to normal.

Have you ever read Homer’s Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I Learned About Love and Life with a Blind Wonder Cat? (I had to put the whole title so you didn’t think I was talking about the author, hahaha.) Maybe it’s just because I’m a cat person, but kitty bravery really inspires me.

I haven’t read that but now it’s in my library requested thing online so hopefully I can read it soon. I loved that other cat, the library cat.

Aww. It’s great he’s adjusting! that little cone is so sad looking, heh. My cat went through some tough times once, and watching her bounce back was really inspiring :)
