My Five Desert Island Songs

The five songs you would have with you on a desert island and why.

Oh man, picking songs is always hard, even harder than movies. I swear I have a spreadsheet of movies in my head for whenever I need it but to pick 5 songs is too much pressure. I’m going to go with my 5 current songs I’d pick, these could change by next week. These are in no particular order:

Somewhere Only We Know by Keane: This song has a way of lifting me up and sailing me away, which would be convenient when stranded on a dessert island.

Everlong by Foo Fighters: Yes, it’s my song with Manly Man so it has that going for it. It’s also a great song with great lyrics and a little bit of a rock edge too.

Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World: I never ever get sick of this song, it’s both beautiful and energetic.

Standing in the Way of Control by The Gossip: Considering how much I love this song I don’t know why I haven’t really checked out all their other music. This song makes me want to dance like a dancing fool.

Get Over It by Ok Go: Of course there needs to be a song that feels like you are

    Lost on a desert island would definitely call for the live version of Ina Gadda Da Vida. But not BEER!!! by Psychostick, because it would be a constant reminder that I didn’t have beer. Unless I had beer, in which case BEER!!! would be the official drinking song.
