Learning From Salt n’ Pepa

All these years I had never really bothers to listen closely to the lyrics of Salt n’ Pepa but they are so wise and insightful.

You put up with my butt
When I wouldn’t give it up

Being really appreciative of your partner for not getting pissed off when you don’t want to have sex.

Let’s talk about sex for now to the people at home or in the crowd
It keeps coming up anyhow
Don’t decoy, avoid, or make void the topic
Cuz that ain’t gonna stop it

People are going to have sex whether you talk about it or not.

The brother had it goin’ on with somethin’ kinda…uh
Wicked, wicked (oooo) – had to kick it
I’m not shy so I asked for the digits
A ho? No, that don’t make me

Just because I like a guy and ask for his number doesn’t make me a whore, got it?

He always got a gift for me everytime I see him
A lot of snot-nosed ex-flames couldn’t be him

He gives me lots of presents so he’s way better than all my ex’s.

I treat a man like he treats me
The difference between a hooker and a ho ain’t nothin’ but a fee

Men and women can both be slutty, equally, as long as you aren’t getting paid for it.

They are pretty epic, aren’t they?

It’s crazy because their lyrics were so “racy” back in the day…but i think if people stopped and listened to the lyrics, they would be much more informed that this was some serious girlpower. None of this Spice Girls push up bras shit.

@Alissa: I’d have to agree with you.
