Actually, I think sheltering and denying lead to problems like drug abuse and teen pregnancies, whereas confronting and discussing them may help to prevent it.  A friend of mine lives in a rural SC area that has high rates of those things happening, and it seems to happen most with families that teach their kids that you can&#039;t get pregnant until you&#039;re married and keep their teens from watching PG movies because they object to the foul language.</description>
