Yes, we have a brand new Kevin Spacey review. As you know with all Kevin Spacey reviews I am biased, I admit to that upfront. But you should still see everything he makes because he’s the definition of awesome.

The Basics: Kevin plays a shrink to the stars who has more than enough problems of his own. He lost his wife a year before, he has a little bit of a pot problem and as he states at one point he has “compassion fatigue syndrome.” There are also a plethera of other characters that either know him personally or are his patients, I’d tell you about them but do they really matter?

The Good: Kevin. Rocks. Ok I got that out of the way I want to comment on the cinematography, from a photog point-of-view it was beautifull shot, wonderful detail and lighting. There were a lot of warm moments but also quite a few funny moments.

The Bad: The film itself is a little slow, about a 1/2 hour probably could have been cut out. I had trouble caring about some of the characters and a couple of the characters just didn’t seem necessary to the storyline.

ps. I’m pretty sure Kevin is one of the few people on the planet that makes smoking sexy, I’m just sayin.

Rating: ★★★½☆

I read a blurb about this movie a while back. Aren’t we not supposed to care about the characters because they’re shallow Hollywood types?

@Barb, well actually technically you are supposed to NOT like them but I get what you are saying. I didn’t go in expecting to  anyone in it and there were some I definitely was annoyed by (and I was supposed to be) but there were a couple that were just unnecessary to me, maybe that was the point.

I got as far as “little bit of a pot problem”. Now I know it’s a fantasy. “pot” and “problem” don’t belong together. Unless it’s “It’s no problem if I smoke pot” :lmao:
