I used to work in a feline vet practice, where two of the Veterinarians are as allergic as you are. They would have weekly allergy shots, take daily medications, etc – and they would suffer through the bad days because they love animals so much, and then go home to their own pets! Yet constantly we would see people bringing in their cats to either give them away, or the absolute worse… euthanize them, because ‘so and so’ is allergic. To add insult to it, the request was usually said in such a casual manner, like animals are just so disposable. It broke my heart every time.
