Whispering Drama

There have been a lot of stresses for me at work, the tensions between a co-worker and me have built up to a boiling point.

I think it’s time for me to invest in good head phones so I can just drown them out.

one of my old managers gave me the best piece of advice:

“Pick the battles, you know you can win.”

I use that advice every day.

I’m sorry, hon, that sucks. But yeah, I agree with Ed. You do indeed have to pick your battles.

I have an issue like this, too. I think it’s a respect issue. Unfortunately, you can’t make people respect you. The advice people gave me: learn to let a lot of crap go in one ear and out the other.

As for your being in yourselfness, try to get out there and do something that makes you happy. You are the only one who can change that. πŸ™‚

Well maybe I need to start to take you on a few day trips so that your days and weekends don’t feel like the same thing over and over! πŸ™‚ Shake the winter dust off…

I think that I am husbandless this weekend so do you want to get together and hang maybe take some pics make a day of it… I will drive πŸ™‚

As for the other stuff… I wish that they wouldn’t act like that but I think that Tara is right… Let it go in one ear and out the other… now that you are hyper aware of your actions and how they are effecting others maybe you can try to change a little each day… and until then just let it go in one ear and out the other… what they think doesn’t matter it is only what you and your boss thinks… If she sees the improvement then who cares about the others…

    Hug

I think you’re right about the headphones. Just go in, do your work, then leave. They don’t have to like you and you don’t have to like them. It’s just a job, the thing that you do to make the money so that you can do the things that you love for the rest of the time in your day.

    Hey Robin,
I tried to read your post, but I couldn’t get back the login page. I tried logging in-Its WordPress so it should have worked-but to no avail and then I tried registering and again, it didn’t work! Arg!

Anyways, based on the brief summary, I will say, I know what its like to not get along with a coworker and even hate them. But, I guess, all you can do is try not to let them get to you and try to rise above it. Not easy when you see them everyday, but not much else you can do. (If its really bad though, you might want to look into changing jobs)

    Best of luck
    *hugs*

I hate gossipy people. But, I also know that the only reason people gossip is to try to feel better about themselves. You have something they’re jealous of so they’re trying to make you look worse then them. But still, I know it hurts.

I go by the whole “kill them with kindness” rule. There’s a girl I work with that I absolutely hate and the feeling is mutual. She called me and my boss in the back to point out something I did and make me look bad. Since then, I’ve killed her with kindness. I don’t over do it and act fake. I do subtle things like smile at her or ask her questions about herself. And it’s working. She’s stumped. And she’s actually being nicer to me. I still don’t trust her as far as I can throw her, but I refuse to give her something to talk about.

Most important, don’t let them get in your head like that. You’re better than that.

Oh, also. Off the subject, what plugin do you use to do your private posts like this?
