What If?

I’ve got a crazy insane idea. What if next year we cut out presents entirely, every single one of us. What if instead we all picked one day to get together and we all brought some food and drinks? What if we all just hung out for the night with no pressure and no expectations? What if it was for one year just about laughing a little and having a good time?

Obviously it’s tough for one person to do this, it has to be a group effort. I know it’s sad that little Jimmy won’t get his firetruck but get him something special outside of the holidays like maybe in June or September, I know, I’m pushing the insanity to a whole new level now.

What if we just started a brand new tradition? What if we made our own rules?

I need to be locked up, go get the straight jacket now. I’ve obviously lost it :crazy:

    I’ve been pushing this idea for years, and finally, just an hour ago in fact!, hubby finally got on board and said next year that’s what we’re going to do. I want a tradition that’s more about the spending quality time together than on stinking presents and making the perfect cheesecake, for crying out loud!

    Now we’ll just have to wait for next year to see if hubby will stick with the program. LOL!

    @TJ – i don’t think people will stop buying stuff but i just like that it isn’t required…if you want you can get people stuff or not…

    i like the idea… and I also think that kids could get gifts… but just kids…
