Furmommy To The Rescue

I am taking today off to take my girl to the vet, she isn’t any better and now her little leg is really swollen. I haven’t made an appointment yet but will first thing in the morning. I will give you all updates when I have some.

We’ve had theories about what happened, it looks like her leg is broken but I doubt it is. Manly Man thinks she was bitten by a snake or something. Otherwise, she’s ok…just really down and out.

I took a video of her limping but it’s hard to tell but you can watch it here.

Edit: She has an abscess and has to stay there the day so they can clean it up.  She had to have her little leg shaved and was actually much better than usual.  She may come home with a cone :(  Oh and for those who missed it on Twitter or Facebook — another cat there was put down, not Aurora.  It was very sad to see though, they had had the cat for 12 years and it died of kidney failure.  I could hear the teenage boy bawling when he got outside.  I couldn’t help but cry 🙁

Aw, sorry to hear she’s not any better. I was hoping a night of pampering inside would fix things for her 🙁

I am sorry that she’s hurt… I bet it is because she beat the shit out of some fucktard guy cat though… She must have!

I am so sorry her leg is broken.

When Allen and I moved into our house, I told him to put plexi-glass up on the open area on the second floor that looked down on the living room. There was a ton of open space. Of course, he never did it.

So Sam (samwise) jumped off of it (we presume), and I finally found him in the closet nursing his leg. I knew it was broken. So we took him in.

Now here is the funny part. The vet didn’t have any other plaster wrap except pink. So here’s Sam, with a plaster cast from paw to whatever in a pink cast. The vet said he would learn to walk on it. He never did. So he would walk around and drag it. It was hilarious!

But the pink is what killed me! BTW, he healed just fine. But I felt so badly, because it took me a couple of hours to realize I couldn’t find him after being gone all day, and I finally found him hiding behind all the clothes in the closet. He had been in pain all that time, and it just about killed me.

    Crystal – Me too 🙁

    Avi – Thanks.

Dutchy – I am assuming the other cat looks a lot worse.

Chelle – I’m not sure her leg is broken, she can still walk on it and can still jump down onto it but something is definitely wrong with it. I hate that when they are hurt they suffer in silence and go off and hide. I think that’s why we had trouble finding her.

I hope it’s nothing major. Our dog’s knee had to have surgery and it wasn’t fun for Jupiter (nor cheap for us). But he’s nice and healed now and lovin’ life.

    The limp is noticable.

Hopefully the vet will patch her right up and she’ll be good as new in no time!

Lots of love and maybe a little bit of tuna will help her heal faster. Until then you can have fun calling her “Conehead Cat”!

I’m glad it wasn’t terribly serious.
