I Wouldn’t Call It Pride
I never call into radioshows. I have a phone phobia, especially when calling a place where I might have an audience. I couldn’t resist calling this morning though, I felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
I was listening to KISS 108 as I do every morning on the way to work when the subject of Luke Perry came up and they mentioned the time that he came to the Cambridge Side Galleria for a personal appearance or whatever. It was mentioned by Billy that he happened to be a part of this event and remembered how it was so crowded that they had to bring Luke Perry in by boat.
I suddenly had this urge to call in because I had been there. At the age of about 13 I had gone with some of my friends (I won’t name names) and screamed my head off for a couple hours. I even contemplated jumped in the water just to swim to him but didn’t take the leap.
When I called into Kiss I found out I was one of the many who had called so I hung up and crawled back under my rock. Not only was I a lame 30 year old woman who wanted to share all New England that she’d gone to see Luke Perry once but I was one of many lame adults who’d done the same.
