Top 10 Plugin List

Today is my bachelorette party so I obviously will not be around. I will probably send pictures to my flickr or Crackbook if you’re curious at all. I thought I’d do something more useful today instead of one of my usual goofy posts.

I’ve been thinking of doing a list like this for a while because I :heartbeat: plugins, as you can see I have way too many of them. Once and a while I pick one that injures my blog but for the most part they make it better, at least I think so. These are not in any order because my feelings about them go up and down over time.

The ones that I bolded are the ones I think every blogger should have, because I know what is best for you 😀

  1. Lightbox – I love the smooth flow of showing pictures this way, I wish I could do this on my photoblog. I like that you don’t have to open up the picture in another page.
  2. Subscribe To Comments – Makes the whole subscribing thing so much better than it ever used to be. Now you can have the option of forever being subscribed to every post on a certain blog or unchecking it and it staying that way too.
  3. Sideblog – I had some issues with this at first but then the programmer helped me and it’s all good now. I like being able to post little posts if I feel like it without interrupting the main site.
  4. Fluency Theme – This is an admin theme, which means it changes the look from inside your blog. I :heartbeat: this, it’s the best layout of wordpress so far, in my opinion.
  5. Custom Smilies – By far the best smilie plugin I’ve come across, really really easy to use and setup with no issues so far.
  6. Comment Highlighter – I like having my comments stand out separately so they don’t blend in with the others, keeps it organized.
  7. Comment Email Responder – Let’s you respond to a specific commenter when you comment on the post, the message goes directly to them. I do this with more specific detailed comments and often sideblog posts.
  8. Category Icons – This is kind of obvious although it took me a while to get it to work with my theme the way I wanted to. I love it, I stole the icons from PackRatz.
  9. Twitter Tools – It gives me the ability to have my posts sent directly to twitter, I don’t know if anyone ever checks out the post from there but it gets my posts out there a little more.

I’m not self-hosted, so I can’t use plug ins… I’ve considered it over and over again and still haven’t pulled the trigger…. oh well…
