Dr. Seuss Vows

This is being kept fairly top secret, so know how lucky you all are. These are our wedding vows:

Officiant: Will you take her as your wife?

Will you love her all your life?
Will you take him by the hand?
And make a husband of this man?
Will you have, and also hold
Just as you have at this time told?

Will you love through good and bad?
Whether you’re happy or sad?
Will you love each other if you’re rich?
Or if you’re poor, and in a ditch?

Will you love each other when you’re fit,
And also when you’re feeling sick?
Will you love with all your heart?
Will you love till death you part?

(Both Nod)

Then if you’ll take her as your wife,
And if you’ll love each other all your life,
And if you’ll take him by the hand,
And make a husband of this man,
And if you’ll have, and if you’ll hold,
From now until the stars grow cold,
And if you’ll love through good and bad,
And whether you’re happy or sad,
And love in sickness, and in health,
And when you’re poor, and when in wealth,
And if you’ll love with all your heart,
From now until death do you part,
Yes, if you’ll love each other through and through,

Officiant, Groom and Bride: I DO!

    Those are really our vows, not many people know…especially not the family. I even had a friend update it to make it a little better than the one I found online.

    I was just poking around your newly designed space here and clicked on the wedding tab. My boyfriend and I aren’t engaged officially but we’ve been together over 5 years and have been brainstorming wedding ideas. So far we’ve decided that he’s going to create brew 4 new beer recipes and name them after us and our cat, then serve them with different buffet-style stations at the reception, that I’m going to bust out my crafty side and make our programs, invitations and placecards, that we’ll need a tv-corner tuned in to the playoffs since we’re planning an October wedding and now that I’m going to have to steal your most charming and adorable vows idea and make them our own!

    @Rachel, I’m so stoked (yeah I said stoked) you want to use these vows, they went over well as far as I know, nobody has complained yet. Someone on a wedding site actually edited the original version that was REALLY long to make this so it’s actually really really unique. Those all sound like awesome ideas, that’s the kind of wedding I like to go to…the ones that are suited to the couple.
