I haven’t always had the best concept of fashion but then again I grew up in the 80s and 90s so I never really had a choice. My parent’s wouldn’t know fashion if it hit them upside the head. Hell, my dad wears a fanny pack :paperbag: *here’s hoping he doesn’t wear it to my wedding.
You can see in the picture here that as a young child I preferred the color purple over a tasteful outfit. The big hair is understandable, this is probably circa 1985.
It’s taken me a long time to really figure out what clothes look best on me and what brings out my personality. I’d say my style is somewhere between girlie and dykie (is that a word?). I like to be feminine but I really like to be comfortable.
Shoes: I love chunky shoes that you would more likely see on a boy but I rarely wear anything resembling stilettos. I trip over my own feet. It just doesn’t work.
That’s why I’ll be wearing either flip flops or sneakers for my wedding.
Pants: I like jeans best and my jeans are usually kind of loose although I used to wear really baggy guy pants. I’m actually contemplating trying on some guy jeans again because I like how they fit better.
Shirts: Years ago I used to wear a lot of tank tops and even at one point showed my mid-drift a lot. Now I’m just happy if I don’t have to keep adjusting my shirt all day long because of my hips or The Wonder Twins. My favorite kind of shirt is a boring tank, I have a gray one I love because it fits just right. I love peasant tops but they never seem to look right anymore, it may be the fault of The Wonder Twins.
Socks: I like wearing funky socks that are stripes or polka dots but then I also wear boring white socks. I don’t really like socks though, they are always twisting around my my feet and pissing me off :pissed:
Accessories: I almost always wear small hoop earrings but am always losing them too. I always wear my glasses, except in bed and in the shower. Always my two rings and sometimes fun bracelets. I almost always have my hair back in a ponytail or something. Oh and I love baggy sweatshirts, especially old ones. I had one sweat shirt for so long I couldn’t remember where the stains and burns came from.
