The Descent

I don’t know why I love horror movies so much because they really do scare me. I cringe, close my eyes at the gory parts and sometimes have trouble getting to sleep. I guess I just like being pushed to the limit.

Watching The Descent (recommended by Gemini) I must admit I was on the edge of my seat. I think I am most scared by people in seemingly hopeless situations and it just makes me really anxious. This movie not only made me nervous but also made me jump out of my skin at least once.

The plot centers around a group of girls getting together to explore a cave until they find themselves stuck in there and that they aren’t alone. It soon becomes a matter of survival and finding a way out.

I feel this was about 1/2 horror and 1/2 Sci/Fi because a big part of this movie is so over-the-top.  I found myself a lot of times not knowing what was going on with most of the movie in pitch black with only flashlights to show a scene and thereforeI didn’t know what I was looking at.

The only problem I had with this movie that I found it a little confusing at times because it was so dark and you couldn’t tell who was who. I honestly couldn’t tell you any of the names of the characters but then it really was more visual than following relationships.

Rating: — If you like freaky, dark and gorey horror films this is one to rent.

Damn I should of reviewed this one back in my day of watching it lol. Yea this movie had me jump out of my seat and scream a few times. I hated when they were climbing through the tiny little areas. I of course started thinking… damn all it takes is one of those women to have slightly bigger boobs then the other and they can’t get through…

I loved the movie and watched it 3 times with in 3 nights showing different friends of mine lol.

Maybe I should write a little review of “the hills have eyes 2”

I’ve been looking forward to seeing that on DVD soon. I just need to return the Netflix movies I’ve had for the last six months first.

Just saw Superbad – very funny!
