Review: The Two Coreys

It’s hard to tell sometimes how much a reality show is setup and how much is people actually being real.  I know that the two Corey’s aren’t all that great of actors so it’s particularly hard to tell when they are acting and when it’s real.  Or, maybe they are never real.  I have to wonder that about actors sometimes.

Anyway, about the show.  I was intrigued at first and when I watched the first episode I thought that it might be ok, at least for a lazy Sunday when I have nothing else better to do.  I was a little embarrassed that they decided to do the opposites thing where one is clean and the other is messy thing.  I mean, did they really have to take the easy way out like that?

I also can’t ignore the fact that it’s been a really long time and for one it’s been a whole lot of drugs.  I had my biggest crush on Haim when he was in Lucas and he really doesn’t resemble the cute nerdy kid from back then although I’m pretty sure he was never that.

The problem for those of us who had Corey fever all those years ago, we loved their characters…not them as people.  I have a feeling if we knew them for who they really were back then we may not have had the same infatuation.  That is how these reality shows about washed up actors doesn’t tend to work, we never really wanted to know the real people to begin with.

I really did want to like the show and I even setup my DVR to record all the shows but I ended up canceling the  recording soon after.  Oh well, I try not to watch reality shows anyway.

Rating: — Don’t bother :dunno:

I’ve heard that nobody would have thought that, 20 years later, Feldman would be the attractive one and Haim would be the pudgy, ugly one.

Avi – Yeah that was definitely a surprise.

Mr. Fab – It’s real, but it only lasts during your early teens. I think I last had it during Dream a Little Dream.

Haim ending up not the cute one doesn’t surprise me. I have this theory: people who are exceedingly cute young use it all up, by middle age at the latest. Uglier Ducklings, like Mr. Feldman, grow into themselves and become more attractive.

Yes, I’ve put entirely too much thought into this.

    And yes, the show SUCKS.

Well…I was a very cute kid. I do agree though…I swear Erik gets better looking every year.

Very cute is not exceedingly cute, doll. Like how David Cassidy was exceedingly cute, but now he’s just scary.

No I was just cute, like adorable but in a real way. Not like a doll, I don’t think.
