Top 5 Scary Movies

I haven’t done a top 5 in a bit and I’m kind of running out of things to do. Well, I guess not…there are a bunch of top 5s I can do about just movies alone.

Mind you I’m thinking these off the top of my head so I may have to change them. I have a sneaking feeling I’m missing some important ones but these are ones that at one point in time scared the crap out of me :what:

5. Wait Until Dark – My mom had us rent this for a sleepover party when we were in middle school I think. It’s a 1960’s Audrey Hepburn suspense about a blind woman in her apartment trying to escape a man trying to kill her. At one point we all screamed and jumped out of our seats :what:
4. Wolf Creek – This is the most recent movie that really scared me. It’s about some kids who are traveling in the Australian outback and are captured by a psycho. The idea of being trapped like that in the middle of nowhere is really scary to me.
3. Night of the Creeps – Ok, this is cheesy but I saw this on a girl scout skiing trip on my birthday actually and the idea of alien slugs jumping into people’s bodies is more than I can deal with :twitchy:
2. The Shinning – Must I say anything about this?
1. The Blare Witch Project – Either people hated this movie and thought it was lame or they were scared out of their minds. I was the latter. While watching this movie I just kept imagining myself in that situation and that was enough to keep me up that night.

Oh and here are Erik and I Simpsonized:

I totally agree with you on #1 that movie freaked me out for weeks after I saw it. I think the eariest part of the movie was the very very end with the boy

Personally, I loved Blair Witch… but I hated the idiots out there who thought, and continue to think, it was real.

    Also, the sequel totally sucked.

Mr. Fab – Not that I’m aware of.

Heather B – I also got lost in the woods the night before I saw it :what:

TMP – It’s lost a lot of the scariness with all the talk about it and all the parodies.

    Watchdog – Ditto!

  5. Mr. Fabulous

Wolf Creek was a good flick. The book “The Shining” was much better than the movie. Blair Witch was creepy and cool, but all the copycats sucked.

And your spelling today is horrible!

I suppose. But if it is good, it is good. I mean if I were to watch it home alone at night, would it give me the hee-bee geebies?

Would you believe that I have not seen any of the movies that you listed other than the Blair Witch Project? I liked the BWP, and like Watchdog, I was annoyed with those that thought it was real.

I’ll have to look for the others that you listed.

Avi – I suck at spelling, sorry. Usually Firefox catches it for me :paperbag:

TMP – Yeah but like a lot of movies when it gets all hyped up it loses something. Like, my parents saw the movie a little while after it came out and they were camping at the time…they didn’t think it was scary at all. I think that had to do with that they have no imagination and it was all hyped up. You still might like it.

Angel – Well I must admit in the first week of it coming out I thought it was real, then I found out it wasn’t. I kind of wish I thought it was real when I saw it, it would have been SO much scarier.

Heather B – Whenever we do get together someday when one of us can afford to travel and take a vacation we’ll have to do a scary movie night with alcohol :martini:
