I give my son the classics and have him read them, and you know what? He liked them. Funny how that works, he did NOT wanna read any… (Mark Twain included) and now he brags that he has read ’em. None of them are even happy endings. One of my faves was The Outsiders… ponyboy curtis and cherry with the madrass jacket. You just knew he wanted to do her. Too bad she was from the wrong side of the tracks.
