My NO List
Here is a list of things that are a big NO in regards to my wedding:
- No stupid songs like the Macarena. Maybe just one song for the kids there but that’s it.
- No traditional garter crap.
- No cheesy pictures of us standing in weird poses because that just isn’t us. I want nice romantic pictures but not weird stuff like us looking off into the horizon together.
- Nothing froofie, I hate froofie.
- No money games, I think that’s utterly tacky.
- No church of any kind.
- No crazy stressfulness for the week of the wedding, I figure at that point the control is gone.
- No keeping secrets from me worrying I’ll flip a lid, I want to know.
- No strippers – at least not the kind pumped up on steroids and wearing a g-string.

March 26, 2007 at 11:56 amWe got married outside, and later that night, had a HUGE bonfire. Guess what got the fire started? My flaming bouquet that I tossed. Heh.

That makes me sad.

March 26, 2007 at 12:27 pmI may have one, I just won’t be playing wedding games with it.

March 26, 2007 at 12:41 pmMay I add one? How about ‘No pushing cake into each other’s faces’. I’ve always thought that was such a mean, competitive way to start out a life together.

March 26, 2007 at 12:43 pmMaureen – I guess that one hadn’t even crossed my mind…no way.

March 27, 2007 at 5:03 amSounds good to me! I’m telling you, I had a totally stress-free wedding. Well, one thing stressed me out. My 6 year old cousin was running in and out of the dressing room before the wedding and everybody and their mother, brother, sister and cousin saw me in my underwear and bra at the church. Great. Lovely. LOL

March 27, 2007 at 7:33 amYou guys are dirty :whip:
KG – Well if I want to have all the people I care about be there I don’t have much of a choice but I’m willing to go through that to have everyone there. That is funny though :lmao:

March 27, 2007 at 7:37 amThing is, *I* was the one who got in “trouble” for yelling at her to shut the damned door…in church. Oops. LOL
Robin
March 27, 2007 at 7:39 amNo church for me, that way I know I won’t get in any trouble 👿
Kentucky Girl
March 27, 2007 at 7:41 amOh see, I’d have gotten in trouble for yelling at her or cursing no matter where I was. Heh. My mother is a MASTER at The Guilt Trip.
Robin
March 27, 2007 at 7:43 amI think my mom gave up on me a long time ago…probably around when I got the tattoo in the middle of my back.
Kentucky Girl
March 27, 2007 at 7:46 amNah. She’s probably saving it up for something big. LOL
Robin
March 27, 2007 at 7:47 amNow that I think of it, she’s probably getting people together to gang up on me at my wedding :what: My mom is “Jewish” not born but converted and she’s always had quite the knack for the guilt.
Kentucky Girl
March 27, 2007 at 7:50 amJewish or not, I think it is part of their genetic makeup (mothers) to be extremely well versed in the fine art of GUILT.

March 27, 2007 at 7:52 amMy MIL is the queen of it, seriously. She could be a teacher for sure. The moment she told Erik he was an “investment” I knew her greatest talent was down and dirty guilt.
Kentucky Girl
March 27, 2007 at 7:54 amLMAO. Seriously. An investment? LOL That is a new one. Maybe my mom needs to brush up on her skills. 😛

March 27, 2007 at 7:57 amHer class is ‘Guilt 101 – How to make your children pay you back for raising them’ :lmfao:
