I’m Sweet & Sour

  • If there is one thing that goes well with chicken strips it’s sweet and sour sauce. Our favorite local sub and pizza shop makes great chicken strips that come with Ken’s Sweet & Sour Sauce. If I had this sauce readily available in my own home I’d be one happy girl. After emailing Ken’s site (yes, don’t question my determination) they informed me it’s only available for restaurants and catering because of a short shelf life. Dang, I guess a girl just can’t catch a break!
  • Never underestimate the truly bored and housebound. We actually painted over the weekend and in fact the painting we’d put off for many months now. Ok, so Mr. Yoda did the majority of it but I got us started and I praised him all night long of the true wonder that is him.
  • I will post pictures later but you may be a tad shocked. The office looks a bit like a school bus but then the bedroom initially looked florescent green before the paint settled.
  • I love Clementines, I really do. They are a great snack and healthy too. It sucks when you get a bad batch though that are kind of bitter or over ripe.
  • I also now love beans or at least black beans. Dang it all to hell that they have to be full of carbs but at least they are also full of fiber
  • I’m having a bit of a Solitaire addiction. I play it on the computer and I play it on my phone when waiting in line.
  • On Monday I was having a really bad tooth ache that was really driving me crazy. It feels like one of my teeth are shifting in front of the other. Does that happen?
  • It hadn’t occurred to me until Gemini mentioned it but I think some tooth problems I’m having lately could be a wisdom tooth coming in. The back of my bottom jaw is swollen and painful but also a couple teeth in the front feel like they are being pushed forward :annoyed: I could only make an appointment for the 30th.
  • It’s been a while but there is a new PW post of mine on Pediaphobia.
  • Don’t miss the new poll!

We buy a product (and have for years) called World Harbors. They make the BEST sweet and sour sauce. They also make a cheriyaki sauce (yes, cherries and teriyaki…so freaking good you’d give away your big toe for a bottle).

It’s hard to find in the stores (I don’t know where you live so I can’t tell you who carries it).

I do know that Amazon.com carries it in the gourmet food section, but I think they sell it by the case. That’s just too much s/s sauce for me!

They make several different types of sauces. I inject a pork roast with the cheriyaki and it’s fantastic!

If you don’t have a store that carries it, I’ll be more than happy to send you a bottle (for free!) so you can try it. Then you’re on your own to find it where you live. It’s not a “specialty” item. My regular market sells it in the condiments aisle.

Oh, and yeah, it’s a tad more expensive than the regular stuff you could buy, but so worth it!

    Let me know!

I’m cutting wisdom teeth, too! Who knew a 36 year old could still be cutting teeth. LOL

I am excited to see your paint jobs. 😀

JJ – I am intrigued, we will talk.

Mr. Fab – Dang, and that’s how I make my money on the side.

Leanne – I’m kind of waiting because I want Gemini to see them in person and not by picture. I don’t think the 2nd coats will be done until this weekend anyway.

Forget about the carbs in black beans. In addition to fiber, they also have protein and the highest level of antioxidants in any bean. The darker the bean, the higher the antioxidants. Black beans are therefore the best all the beans. So eat up and don’t bother with any of the guilt.

Mmkay, well I never like the sweet & sour sauce with the chicken, I always use ketchup.

I play spider solitaire ALL the time….still on a losing ratio and it irks me.

Good luck with the dentist, mine came in a few years back and I had to have them extracted immediately because they were wrapped around my nerves which made half my face numb and I could not close my mouth. I still have 2 more to go on the top and I hope they never come in because that was hell.
