Chasing Tail

  • I’m telling you, I don’t know what I’d do without these random posts bullet style because there are always so many little things on my mind to share but they don’t really garner a full post. I like to give you posts that are at least somewhat worth taking time out of your day to read.
  • This weekend we went to pick up a scanner since we got a gift certificate card in the mail for Circuit City but it turns out now scanners are combined with printers and photo printers as well. So now we have a scanner, photo printer and regular printer all in one. I’m so excited to be able to print out nice copies of my photography if I want.
  • Of course now I’m going scanner happy and I’ve scanned in all these old photos, mostly college days. All of these photos are located in my flickr but friends and family can only see the really interesting ones. If you are a friend and/or family and would like access please let me know, but you need to have an account with flickr.
  • I think I’ve finally gotten to a place where I’m ready to paint the office but it very well may pass in a few days. Although I really shouldn’t start it until the floor is done and that still has at least a month to go the way Mr. Yoda is taking his time.
  • I’ve seen some good movies recently but I don’t feel yall really enjoy my reviews and so it seems kind of pointless. I suppose I could just do it for myself :dunno:
  • Taxes are coming up aren’t they? I’m nervous since my taxes have always been so easy but now I’m a homeowner so that complicates it. I’ve been able to do them on my own mostly with only a few glitches here and there. I would really rather not pay someone to do it for me.
  • Mr. Yoda Family Update – So while Mr. Yoda is now on good terms with his dad I am still pissed off at FIL’s SO due to how she treated me. His family loves to shake things up and then just pretend like it never happened but I don’t work that way. Mr. Yoda is going to visit his dad on Sunday and I was invited to come with but I’m not. I feel guilty not see FIL because I care about him a lot but I cannot stand to see SO right now. To make matters worse MIL left a VM for me saying how “proud” she was of me for putting it all aside to go see FIL. Why can’t they all just mind their own business???
  • Not only did I recently post a photo of Pilot just for Watchdog but I also got a video of Pilot chasing his tail. Sorry for the bad quality but it was taken with my camera phone.
  • I think this has been the most boring random post ever, sorry.

Looks like Pilot is staring out onto a Renoir painting. Neat photo!

What color are you thinking for your office? I just painted the dining room your blog background blue’ish, and it connects to the office but I’m hesitant.

Leanne – I already have the color, it’s basically a squash color…I thought I’d have fun with it you know? I also really want to carpet the room soon because it’s so cold and bare right now.

I’m going to add a link to a picture of the office in my post.

Pilot is adorable. I love that cat.

PS – Naughtiest post title ever.

I used to do my own taxes too. I never saw the point of paying an accountant for something I could do myself. Then I found out that an accountant will usually more than make up for their fee by giving you a tax return much bigger than I could have ever achieved on my own. In fact, I usually owed money when I did it myself. The trick is finding the right one. Talk to your friends and find out who they use and if they usually get sizeable returns. I like the ones that are willing to work magic by bending things a bit.

I use software to do my taxes & e-file. If you are getting a refund, you can direct deposit & have it as little as 10 days. I use taxact.com. Although….. since you’re not married I don’t really know how itemizing deductions would work…. I’ve always done a married filing jointly…… BUT! You know your cousin S is a CPA. Call on him if you need to.

    I miss having a cat 🙁

I do my own taxes and my BIL’s. It’s a pain in the butt but at least I know they are done right.

GDG – I’ve almost always done my own taxes and always gotten a pretty big return. I’m curious how I’ll do now owning a house.

KC – I might ask him. I may just try to do it myself this year since I’m not married and have Mr. Yoda have his done professionally since his are more complicated.

Blue – I won’t even try to do Mr. Yoda’s, it’s beyond my tiny amount of knowledge.
