I found a nugget of a good show on television by accident. The show is called My Boys and it’s cute. It’s not the best comedy out there but the characters are fun and the idea is interesting.
The main character PJ is a tomboy who’s a sports writer and spends the majority of her time with the guys. The guys include Andy (her married brother), Brendan (her unofficial roommate), Mike (the ladies man), Kenny (the troubled dater), Bobby (the new addition who she works with) and Stephanie (the girlfriend who gives her advice). Every Thursday night she plays poker with the guys and they often visit the local bar.
PJ is trying to find a mix of having her “boys” be a part of her regular life and also have a romantic life of her own. The show started off with a romantic interest in Bobby but that never seemed to really take off. I don’t think he was comfortable with how she tended to act like the guy in the relationship.
By the end of the show it turned out one of her “boys” (one she’d known for many years) had feelings for her and she didn’t know. Ahhh, the plot thickens! You know me, I’m a sucker for unrequited love or the love from afar. Bring it on!
