Tonight is our “Chanukah” night and I put that in quotations because it’s so barely Chanukah. We will probably light a few candles, maybe have Manechevitz wine and we’ll definitely have latkas (potato pancakes). My mom makes the best damn latkas you’ve ever had and of course from scratch but you can’t have any :nana:
My parents are coming over and since MIL is here it will be like last year. Although instead of a brisket (we rocked the brisket last year) we will be doing salmon and pork loin. Yeah yeah, we’re Jews that eat pork
MIL got it fine and it’s been very nice so far actually. She showed up with a buttload of suitcases as always, usually filled with more junk than actual clothing. I gave her some flowers and she started to cry. I do love her despite how I complain about her. She is kind of the opposite of my mother so I get 2 different kinds of moms for my variety of needs. ÂÂ
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and if you get a chance see if you can spike the egg nog. I’m just saying…seeing grandma tipsy must be funny as hell.
And I leave you with me singing the Chanukah prayer that I still know, it just shows how well religious school drilled it into my head over the years. I apologize if my singing kinda sucks or if I screw it up but I suppose none of you will ever know. Enjoy!
