Tattoo Says I Do

  • New Bah Humbug theme, you like? I think I might take out the woman though since I couldn’t get the edges to look smooth.
  • Erik calls me up at work on Monday morning asking if I’d like a tattoo engagement ring. Now, I’m definitely a fan of tattoos (3 and counting) but the idea of a tattooed engagement ring just doesn’t do it for me.
  • I really don’t think he gets the whole thing. Normally he’s all over the romance thing but when he has to go out, get a ring and the whole shebang I think he thinks it’s silly. He would rather just get married and if I know him when there is something he’s not totally on board with he’ll put it off until the cows come home. He would rather just get married and even that he thinks is pointless. Not that I blame him for his issues with all of this but it’s annoying.
  • We witnessed the cat that’s been harassing Aurora. We let them out for a couple hours on Saturday and suddenly we heard angry cats. We found Aurora and the grey cat facing off and they were both super pissed. I think this other cat thinks Aurora is on it’s territory. Anyway, I suppose that explains why she’s on edge.
  • I’m going to try to keep my random posts to once a week and weekends. I’d like to have more interesting posts and I know I have a lot of thoughts running around in my head I’d like to get out. Although if something interesting happens I will still post about it even if it means more than one post a day.
  • Turns out most of you who read here regularly like the quotes, so they stay
  • I know people are asking for a lot of donations but it’s just not possible for us right now. We’ve had a lot of blows over the past couple years and just bought a house so it’s tough. I hope someday we can be more comfortable and be able to give more to charity.
  • It’s interesting when the tables turn and someone finally sees things from your perspective.  Don’t you think?
  • I hope we get out early today :fingerscrossed:

Maybe the women has leprosy. Let’s see if any of her fingers fall off…

    Now that would be scary.

Maybe he’s just trying to do things a little bit differently, in order to give them more meaning for him. If each of the traditions & symbols have real meaning for him, then he will be better able to join you in your excitement about a wedding & marriage. (And, I know that he wants to join you in that and give you that joy that he knows you want)

So, a tattoo engagement ring might seem more real and more meaningful to him. It may make that promise symbol really speak for him – really portray the permanent promise that he wants to make.

I hope I get out early today, too 😀 My boss is out for the day, so I’ll have to decide that for myself… But, if I keep on working (instead of reading blogs!), I might get all the work done & be able to leave with a clear conscience.

Yeah but if I went that direction I’d feel I missed out on something :sigh:

Well get back to work :whosnext:

I’m feeling the theme… very very cool.

Maybe you need to tell Erik why its annoying… he may not realize how much it bothers you. I can understand a swap like instead of a ring you get, oh, a house… but a tattoo??? Even I think that’s weird.

We’ve talked about it but I’m trying really hard not to be the kind of girl who whines about it, you know? He said he heard it on the radio and I think he thought since I like tattoos I’d like it. It’s not like I want a diamond anyway, he makes everything seem like so much work.

Being whiney might be the answer. Repetition tends to sink into the brain. Kinda like the ABCs in kindergarten.

A real ring is so much more fun. You can twirl it around on a string, you can spend hours looking for it when it gets lost, and it makes a GREAT projectile when “The Fight” happens. You need one… really you do.

They consider tattoos below the wrists illegal here in New York… so that isn’t even a thought of an option for us… which is why it may seem so weird to me.

I think at this point I’ve brought it up enough. I KNOW he wants to…it’s just the doing it that’s tough. Like me going to the gym…I want to but just can’t seem to actually GO there.

Those are very good reasons :whosnext:

I like the new theme. But what’s up with the text in the header? “Less” looks like “lenn.”

Joefish – That’s what Erik said about the font but I just loved it so much. The small s’s look like small n’s.
