I Want To Be A Recluse

  • The move went well, although they had something like 12 people (mostly friends) to help them. All I had was my aging father, my 21-year-old brother and Erik. Man, how our entire moving experience would have been so much better if we’d had more help. I suppose if we had friends that might help :dunno: It took us a good MONTH to move out…and you wonder why we’re still working on the house. Our first month was spent MOVING. I’m not bitter though
  • Aurora is the most neurotic cat on the planet; nothing is ever good enough. With her paw she knocks all the dry food onto the floor to eat and she does the same with the water. Erik wants to use flat plates for her instead but I don’t want to accommodate to her wishes. She does NOT run this house!
  • I organized even more and it felt so damn good. I rearranged the cabinets and it makes a lot more sense than before. Still have more to do but it’s coming along nicely.
  • We have plans this weekend :yipee: Yes, we’re actually seeing friends or at least friends that would like to see us. Jusy and her fiancé are coming out and we may do Café Dolce. I want to celebrate their engagement and I miss her terribly. I almost want to sell the house and move closer to her :kickcan:
  • In case you were wondering, the raccoon did die. We checked on Saturday morning and it definitely passed away. I feel awful and I think I’m going to need to know for future reference who to call if this kind of thing happens again. Where I live it’s entirely possible.
  • I’m so sick of these headaches I get all the time. Sometimes they are a mild annoyance and other times it’s a pounding on the side of my head. Mostly I tend to feel like my head is all fuzzy inside or something. Does that make sense? If I’m cranky this may be why.
  • I wish I could go rent a cabin in the middle of nowhere and avoid everyone for like a month. That would be nice.
  • I finally got Erik to record one of his impersonations. Is it an impersonation if it’s no one in particular? It’s basically like an old Jewish grandpa or something :dunno:

Don’t miss my renter Am I Annoying You Yet, it’s fun with lots of interesting information!

Oh, how I would love a month of no commitments. Sigh… I hope that retirement is something like that. 😀

If you go somewhere by yourself and rent a cabun, be sure to take food with you. You could get very hungry if you didn’t eat for a month. 🙂

We don’t have friends, either, at least not in the area. Once we all finished grad school, everyone moved back home and for most of us, “home” wasn’t Ohio.

Poor Brian had to move by himself, although we did hire movers. My sister’s wedding was on that day, and I was in the hospital. :sigh:

Oops–I meant this recent move in June, not from Ohio to Illinois! :duh:
