My Sunrise

Even though I drive to hell and back every single day and mind you the morning is so much more painful. Usually I’m still half asleep and I’m driving to work so there is nothing to really look forward to.

Although lately, since it’s been darker earlier, I get to watch the sun rise. Lately I’ve been trying to really admire it, which keeping my eye on the road at the same time.

Thanks to my camera phone I was able to get a few shots and I’m thinking…how many people get to watch the sunrise on the way to work like I do? If only I could pull over everytime I saw a beautiful shot but then I’d have to add like another half hour to my commute.

I wonder if I’m the only one along route 2 at that time of the morning realizing how striking the sun looks peeking over the horizon.

    You know, when I’ve been in similar situations in my car(and, for me, I think I notice the sunsets more than the sunrises), I don’t know that I’ve ever thought about the other members of the community that I am actually a part of – all of the people driving in their cars in the same direction at the same time. Now, I’m going to be thinking of them as if we weren’t separated by vehicles and space & wonder if they’re seeing the same things that I am, too :D

    I had a reminder this morning that the sun is rising later, when I woke Shelby. When I went to wake him, he looked out the window and thought I was tricking him, for a minute – asked me “Is it really morning, now?” Here comes winter…

    I know…wasn’t it just winter like a month ago? It seems like winter takes up most of the year. I love a lot of things about New England but winter isn’t one of them.

    I’m hardly ever up that early to see a sunrise. I think the last I did was when I went to my aunt’s funeral earlier this year

    Granted I leave while it’s still as dark as night and I need to put the deck light on just to find my way to the car :sigh:

    What I notice on my commute every morning is that pitch blackness is suddenly replaced with extreme brightness. It’s really annoying.:(

    I hate the blinding sun but that usually starts up around winter.
