One Big Step for Me

I took a big step everyone…I got myself a job at the local newspaper :yipee:

I’m just going to be going to the town meetings every other Monday night and write up about it.  I guess the big deal going on in the town right now is that real estate values are going down so I’m particularly interested in that.

Given that I got a BA in English/Professional Writing this is a big step for me in the great scheme of things.  I don’t care about the money, I’m just excited to be involved in writing for publication again (other than online).

Wish me luck!  I wrote an article on Passover for them when I was in college so we’ll see where this goes

I almost didn’t take this step because I’m so scared it won’t work out but I did it anyway.

    Robin –
Omigosh, you got a job writing. So cool. I know from reading your blog posts that this is where your heart is. I have not used my Journalism degree to earn a living like this. I feel that I have done everything but…be a journalist. Blogging has been liberating, sorta like coming home.

As I approach a big move back across one border and the country to California, I face yet another job hunt. Maybe I’ll give it a go…or, I could just get paid well to do a boring admin job again. Ug, decisions, decisions!

Teri – You sound just like me.

I still am an admin by day but I don’t hate this work anymore now that I have a job I actually care about. Who knows where the writing will go…we’ll see. Just the blogging I do has been so fullfilling.
