Lots Going On Round Here

  • Erik has an interview on Monday and it’s a local place! :fingerscrossed: Too bad the fact he has to go to court on Friday could compromise that :rolleyes:
  • My boss just switched my hours to an hour earlier, which means I miss the rush hour traffic :yipee: I now come in from 7:30-4:00 starting Monday.
  • Our realtor sent us a $50 gift certificate to Home Depot. Do they normally do this? I just couldn’t believe it!
  • I’m in the midst of planning our big housewarming party for September. I’m excitWelcomeed and nervous since I don’t feel I’m the best host and I worry things will go smoothly :fingerscrossed: It’s going to have to be mainly outside since our house is small but our yard is huge but we have a tent thingy.
  • I need to make lots of snack foods for this, if you have any suggestions let me know. That reminds me, I need to ask Phat Tony for that Portugese shrimp dish that was at her engagement party.
  • I’m still so excited about the design Lysie is working on for me even though I know she’s sick. Lysie, take your time, I’m just happy I’m getting one at all :hyper: The colours I suggested look like the sheets in my bedroom :cheesy:
  • I’m a little bummed that almost none of my family is coming to our party but most of Erik’s local family is. I hate that all my “close” family is out in Tulsa but I guess that’s why I’m pushing my way into Erik and Gemini’s families 😉
  • Oh, did I mention this is our first real party together? We’ve had small get-togethers but nothing like this. So far at least 20 people are coming :thumbsup:

    When ever I throw a party, I always make ham/green onion/creame cheese roll ups. They are ALWAYS a big hit. Very easy to make too.

    Take a piece of ham lunch meat, spread a thin layer of creame cheese on it, then place on green onion stalk on it, and roll it up from side to side. Then simply slice of bite-sized pieces. Of course, with the flavored creame cheeses out there now, you could simply get onion flavored creame cheese and skip the green onion part, or whatever flavor of creame cheese you’d prefer. Trust me, they are yummy! :thumbsup:

    If you want a dip for your party, I like this one:
    Equal parts cream cheese and your favorite salsa for a cream cheese – salsa dip. Use tortilla chips or veggies. Just let the cream cheese get soft, then stir it together with the salsa. (8 oz cream cheese to 1 cup of salsa or to taste)

    Sorry we don’t live closer, or I’d be there celebratin’ with ‘ya! :heartbeat:
