Do Something For Others

You must give some time to your fellow men. Even if it’s a little thing, do something for others – something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

    Beautiful thought, Robin!

I was just thinking along these lines this morning, driving Shelby to soccer. I was talking to him about how his Aunt Molly (my next older sister) & her kids were on vacation now, but that their vacation was working at an orphanage in Mexico. He thought that was the greatest thing! I do, too. It’s a little thing and I’m sure they’re enjoying some vacation time while they’re at it, but if everyone did just a little bit like that, it would make the world so much nicer for us all. And, I know that it is uplifting their souls, too and teaching her boys some great lessons about the good fortune in their own lives.

That IS beautiful! You have such a wonderful family, really.

It may not be much but we gave SO much away to either people in person or the Salvation Army. We gave away garbage bags full of sheets and clothing. We even gave a lot of furniture away. It felt really good, I like giving more than I like getting. People might say it but I really do.

You know, Allison & I have been talking about what it is that she (and all of us, eventually) need to ‘get’ in order to be really happy in our lives. I think that ‘giving feels better than getting’ is one of the biggies! 😀
