The World of the Celebrity

To me, to be a real actor is to avoid being a celebrity. Sometimes you just can’t help but be stalked by paparazzi; maybe you are just too fascinating not to watch your every move. I’m sure being in the world of the celebrity cannot help the marriages in the end.

If you really take your career and relationship seriously the best thing for you to do is just act like a normal person and not blab about your relationship to everyone who will listen. When I mean everyone I mean be careful what you say in interviews and do not have a reality show.

It used to be that getting each other’s names tattooed on your body was a death trap for your relationship but now it’s also bringing your intimate relationship to television. I mean, I believe Erik and I can withstand just about everything but I doubt many relationships can handle cameras following you around everywhere you go.

I can just see something I said out of context on camera and watching it with Erik turn into an arguement.  No thank you.

In reality (no pun intended) an intimate relationship should be between those two people and everyone should not know every little detail of it. It’s about being a team and having a life without everyone else intruding on it.

I think it really says something about a couple who either uses their relationship to get press for their careers or feels the need to share their relationship with millions and selling the dvd collection

My point being: if you want to be in a real relationship, then keep it to yourself and if you want a real acting career keep your personal life to yourself. You don’t owe us anything but if you give an inch, the press will take a mile.

Jessica/Nick and Carmen/Dave down next is Britney/Kevin  It’s almost like a game show, who’s next to lose?

I keep my lives very separate. At home I am one person with the one I love, at work I am a much more secretive and subdued person.

Often I find it difficult to transition between the two but it helps me keep my head on straight. I think it’s because I sometimes hate my job and having a different (much happier) life to come home makes everything better.

I couldn’t bear it if everything between the two of us was suddenly open for the general public to see. There’s a reason it’s called a ‘partnership’, because it is just between the two of you.

Chris – I’m the same way. At work I’m very focused and rarely talk to other people, I just want to get my work done. When I come home it’s pure joy and so peaceful…I’m glad I have that. I can’t imagine having the whole world judge my relationship.
