One pedal at a time

Well we took our first trip on our bikes last night. For me I swear I haven’t been on a bike since maybe before college. That’s over a decade ago, how did that happen?

It took me a few minutes to feel like I wasn’t going to fall over into oncoming traffic. Once I finally got used to it I realized I couldn’t breathe. I have exercise induced asthma so I started weezing like a big dork and had to stop a couple times but I think I did pretty well considering.

Next time I will bring my inhaler. Duh.

My bike is all jacked up though and slammin. Can I say that? I think I may be too white to even blog that.

It was a beautiful ride and felt very free. I had an urge to sit up on the bike and open up my arms like they do in the movies when the woman finally feels free. I have a feeling it wouldn’t have looked so freeing if I fell over and broke my arm.

Anyway, I get home and I take a few hits off the inhaler. That’s when Erik tosses me the fortune cookie I hadn’t opened yet (from the Chinese takeout earlier) and here is what I got.

I think someone is trying to tell me something.

This page is chock full of good entries. I’m liking my mornings, too. How can you go wrong when nothing has happened yet? 🙂

And as for the bike, I can’t go a block on mine. Ugh. I’m riding the stationary one, but that’s just not fun. No soda, no junk food, and hopefully, soon, I’ll be able to ride my real bike.

Does yours have a basket and a bell?

No backseat or bell. No basket with a flower on it either 😀 I do have a nifty thing that tells me how far I’ve gone. I’m hoping I can muster the energy to do it a few times a week.

I am glad that you got out yesterday! I think that We will have to go riding on the trail sometime soon.

I need to get a bike rack and then I will be set! I will drive out to your neck of the woods to ride…
