My doctor said so

So I went to see my doctor about my extreme fatigue recently and here is her suggestions:

  • Drink more water: when she looked in my mouth she immediately asked me if I was drinking enough water, which I’m not. I only end up drinking about 32 ounces a day and nothing on the weekends. Once I leave work I don’t drink anything all night except the occasional beer.
  • I must cut out more of the starches/carbs especially around lunchtime so I’m going to make more of an effort to do that. I’m not very excited about protein (ie meets and eggs) but I’m going to have to try harder and keep in mind I need more energy.
  • She suggested some of my medication I should take closer to dinner time instead of in the afternoon because it may help. It’s easier to remember to take them all at once but I’ll just have to find a way to remember.
  • She also put in some blood tests to see if anything else is up.

Here’s hoping these changes make a difference. I hate that I know if I cut out more carbs I’d feel better and be healthier but I have such a tough time with it. Ever since I started doing more whole wheat I’ve gone a little overboard with it I think.

    I think we all should probably drink more water but its just so bland I think that’s the deterent. I have found those Crystal Light packets are great though and come in many flavors. Hope everything turns out well.

    I put a little bit of lemon juice in my water, which helps so much. My problem is I forget and before I know it the day is gone.

    Good luck with that. I’ve been so tired all the time for months. I had all these blood tests done–nothing. At first I thought it was my depression, but it’s actually from sleep apnea! (Which can actually cause depression.)

    My mother-in-law has that, my boyfriend Erik was actually the one who noticed she would stop breathing while she was sleeping. I think I just really need to pay close attention to what I eat, how much water I drink and to remember when to take my pills. Thanks for stopping by.
