Spring cleaning

My online home that is, fragile musings, my home away from home :D I’m cleaning up my blogroll since I like to keep things as tidy and as simple as I can. If you visit my blog often or vice versa then your blog will probably stay on the list. Not that I’m going to pretend that my blogroll is prestigious or anything. I’ve also incorporated a new plugin I hope will make my life, and others of course, a little simpler. As I understand this plugin will show (through blogrolling) when a blog has updated. I have a few criteria I use for who goes on my blogroll (if you were wondering):

Well written blog (clear, to the point and interesting posts)
Nice/clear template
Including my blog on their blogroll ;)
Posting on my blog from time to time

There are just too many blogs out there to commit to every single blog. I don’t want to clog my blogroll with a bunch of blogs I don’t have time to visit and who don’t visit mine (if you don’t post I have no idea if you visit). Also, having ADD I don’t have the patience to read blogs that have posts that go on forever although I do have a few long-ish posts I feel I keep them to the point. I also like blogs that have something interesting to say and real point-of-views, I don’t just want to read a blog that says “I walked my dog today.”

So, with my Spring cleaning done I feel refreshed and I can now really relax in my fragile home. I’m just going to sit back on my preverbial couch in my pajama bottoms and old t-shirt. Next is to do the spring cleaning at my other home, I think I may put that off until it’s actually Spring weather outside.

    I know what you mean about the ‘I walked my dog yesterday’ type blogs. I think those bloggers probably lead interesting lives, though, and just haven’t found the knack for blogging.

    gary – possibly. I also think some people aren’t ready to really open up. I’ve always been really open about myself so I haven’t had that problem.

    I agree with you about reading blogs that take life to the next step. I think that it’s possible to be thought provoking and interesting without compromising one’s personal boundaries. I too like blogs that do more than present a person’s daybook with comments inserted. I also love comments because I like being challenged and I like challenging other people – I think it’s a great way to connect and work through our lives. I’m new to your blog, but I like what I’m reading and learning so far…

    Thanks Byron, I like your blog as well. I don’t think I’ve added you yet to my blogroll but I shall…I just need to take the time to add some I haven’t yet. I love the blogging world and think it’s great I’ve gotten the opportunity to basically get to know people otherwise I would never have known. I also feel like I get to see a little bit into someone’s mind…how cool is that?
