Follow through

You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through.

-Rosalynn Carter

    Wisdom

It’s not good,
the doing of the deed
that, once it’s done,
you regret,
whose result you reap crying,
your face in tears.

It’s good,
the doing of the deed,
that, once it’s done,
you don’t regret,
whose result you reap gratified,
happy at heart.

-Dhammapada, 5, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.

With every passing day I can feel my self becoming just a little bit wiser. It’s inevitable with all the life experiences you can pack into a life of 36 years. I strive to perform as many good deeds as possible just for the sake of sharing the positive side of life with others. Alas, though I am all too human, and have more deeds to regret than I care to remember. Recognition and reflection on such as my current state of existence helps foster that wisdom. Thanks for sharing this poem.
