How to become a Buddha

“There is a simple way to become a Buddha: when you refrain from unwholesome action, are not attached to birth and death, and are compassionate toward all sentient beings, respectful to seniors and kind to juniors, not excluding or desiring anything, with no designing thoughts or worries, you will be called a buddha. Do not seek anything else.”

It may have been simple for the author to write that, but it’s not simple to live that way every day. All we can do is keep trying & keep being compassionate towards ourselves, too.

Well the idea is simple. You read it and are like “yeah, I can do that” but living it is the hard part. Living it day to day. I would really like to try to reach that way of life…if I can do even a small fraction of it I think that would be good.
